Station Poker Classic 2025 Kicks Off at Casino Regina: No Limit Hold’em Action in Saskatchewan
- Station Poker Classic 2025 highlights Regina as a poker hub.
- Hosted by Casino Regina, featuring No Limit Hold'em only.
- Five-day event with a structured schedule of buy-ins.

The Station Poker Classic 2025 puts Regina on the map as a poker hub on the Canadian prairies. It runs this week from March 18th to 22nd at Casino Regina with No Limit Hold'em on the menu with varying buy-ins.
Exploring the Event Schedule and Buy-Ins
Regina is a focal point for poker on the Canadian prairies this week. The Station Poker Classic 2025, as of March 18th, is underway at Casino Regina in Regina, Saskatchewan. The event is a five-day event from March 18th to 22nd. It features a series of No Limit Hold'em tournaments with varying buy-ins.
Unfortunately, for fans of other games in the poker family, there is no Omaha, Razz, Stud, 2-7 lowball, or any of the formats. That is a bit disappointing and I do wonder if simply including Omaha or Omaha Hi-Lo might help the venue grow its event next year.
The schedule included a $450 + $50 Turbo event that's already underway. Next up is a $720 + $80 event on March 19th (15,000 chips, 30-minute levels). That will be followed by a $910 + $90 event on March 20th (18,000 chips, 30-minute levels). Then a $1,090 + $110 event on March 21st (21,000 chips, 30-minute levels) followed by what could be called the Main Event for the week, the $1,540 + $160 finale on March 22nd (25,000 chips, 30-minute levels).
More information on tournament structures is available on the homepage of the casino.
A Look at Casino Regina’s History and Ownership
Casino Regina is located at 1880 Saskatchewan Drive, housed in what was originally Union Station. In 1994, the station had long closed. The Saskatchewan provincial government approved its conversion into a casino with doors opening in 1996. SaskGaming currently owns the property, a subsidiary of Lotteries and Gaming Saskatchewan.
In short, it's all legit.
The venue doesn't list the last names of their past champions. But in looking at the photos, I didn't recognize a single person. You wouldn't attend this event with hopes of bumping into Daniel Negreanu, Sam Greenwood, or Kristen Foxen. However, you could go to this venue hoping to bump into poker players that you can actually beat.
