Kristen Foxen and Sam Greenwood were in South Korea, where they showcased Canada’s poker prowess at Triton Jeju 2025. Foxen cashed $317,500 across three events, while Greenwood excelled with $2.08M, including a $1.687M Main Event finish. The WSOP Toronto 2025 event looms.
Kristen Foxen’s Triton Jeju 2025 Performance
Kristen Foxen, one of Canada's top poker players, has been in South Korea lately. She has enjoyed just a moderate performance at the Triton Poker Series Jeju 2025, poker events hosted at the Landing Casino in Jeju.
The entertainment complex is located within the luxurious Jeju Shinhwa World resort on South Korea’s Jeju Island. In the poker world, it is well known for hosting high-profile events like the current Triton Poker Series.
Foxen's best result so far this year came in February, when she won a PokerGO Cup event. In Triton, Foxen has cashed in three events but nothing significant by her standards. Her most notable achievement at Triton Jeju so far came in Event #6.
This was a $25,000 NLH WPT Global Slam, a tournament that drew 389 entries and generated a $9,725,000 prize pool. She navigated a star-studded field—including the likes of Phil Ivey, Fedor Holz, and Paul Phua—to finish 20th, earning $97,200.
At other events in the series, Foxen has been active. In Event #1: $15,000 NLH 8-Handed, she was among the 136 players remaining as the bubble loomed and did not make the cash.
In Event #3 ($25,000 NLH), Foxen cashed for $45,000. Posts on X also place her at the $100,000 NLH Main Event table around March 7. She also cashed in this expensive buy-in event but failed to double-up on her efforts. She took away $182,000 from the No Limit Hold'em Main Event.
Sam Greenwood’s Standout Success in South Korea
Foxen appears to have chipped-up a bit in South Korea, but Canadian Sam Greenwood has been playing better. He racked up three cashes in South Korea - and two of them were significant. On February 27th, he kicked off the series with a 37th-place finish in the $20,000 No Limit Hold’em - 8 Handed (Event #2), earning $41,000 from a competitive field.
A short time later, on March 1st, he surged to 6th place in the $30,000 No Limit Hold’em - 8 Handed (Event #5), pocketing $353,500. His standout moment came on March 7th, when he finished 5th in the prestigious $100,000 No Limit Hold’em - Main Event (Event #11), banking a massive $1,687,000.
Greenwood is 4th on Canada's All-Time Money List with over $37M while Foxen is 8th at about $9.5M.
