Canadian poker star Daniel Negreanu added another victory to his illustrious career. This time, he claimed a win on the PokerGO Tour.

Daniel Negreanu Dominated a Mixed-Games Event

Daniel Negreanu solidified his place on top of Canada's All Time Money List on Tuesday. He finished 1st in a PokerGO Tour event, claiming a prize of $292,500 in doing so.

The event was a small one in terms of entrants, attracting just 65 poker players. However, the $15,000 + 200 entry fee made for some decent cashes for the players that made the final table.

In a mixed games event, Negreanu outlasted several American players, including Nick Schulman and Maxx Coleman. The latter player took away a fourth-place finish after previously winning a mixed-game event earlier this month.

Negreanu almost ran away with the tournament. While there was some parity in chip totals when the final table started, over time Negreanu built up a huge stack relative to his opponents. He held well over 6,000,000 chips at one point, which was more than all of his other six opponents combined and still with room to spare.

Negreanu Ruthless But Card Luck Made Matters Close

It seemed that most of the players were resigned to defeat but were happy to fold their way up the money, freezing out the other low stacks. Negreanu employed a sort of "abuse the bubble" approach, even after making the cash.

Yet, when he got to heads-up action, seemingly all the luck favored his opponent, eventual runner-up Nick Schulman. Schulman had just 325,000 chips left compared to Negreanu's gigantic stack.

But hand after hand went the American's away until he doubled up enough times that he caught Negreanu's attention again. The Canadian then chipped away at Schulman's stack before an Omaha hand of AAKQ provided the knockout punch.

Negreanu now has $54,523,897 in poker winnings as he sits on top of Canada's top spot.
