There was a big poker event in South Korea over the last couple of weeks. Here's a recap of the tournament, with a focus on how the Canadian players did.

2025 Triton Poker Super High Roller Series - Results

The 2025 Triton Poker Super High Roller Series Jeju, held from February 26th to March 15th at the Landing Casino in Jeju Shinhwa World, South Korea, wrapped up this weekend. The event was a blockbuster, one that attracted a lot of big poker names.

There were 20 high-stakes tournaments with buy-ins ranging from $15,000 to $150,000. Here’s a recap of the tournament champions which, unfortunately, did not include any Canadian players.

The 2025 Triton Poker Super High Roller Series Jeju saw champions from a diverse range of nations, with the USA and China each producing three winners. Those nation-by-nation totals were followed by Malaysia and Spain, countries that had two each. There were single victories from Azerbaijan, Russia, Portugal, Thailand, Norway, Hungary, the UK, and Ukraine. Meanwhile, as you can see, Canada was shut out from a victory.

Looking at the list above, there are a lot of poker no-names. The game has a way of casting ordinary people into the limelight for their 15 minutes of fame. But Bryn Kenney was among the champions, the all-time leader on the Hendon Mob's moneylist with over $75,000,000 in poker winnings.

Canadian Poker Players: Notable Performances at the 2025 Triton Event

I combed through the results of the tournaments to see how Canadians performed, while filtering out minor achievements. I would say that Sam Greenwood was the most successful Canadian player at the event.

He didn't win a title, but he did take down a runner-up finish. All totaled, he won nearly $2.5M in the events.

  • Event #17 ($20,000 + $10,000 Pot Limit Omaha - Bounty Quattro): Finished 2nd, earning $340,000.
  • Event #13 ($25,000 Pot Limit Omaha - 6 Handed): Finished 16th, earning $43,000.
  • Event #11 ($100,000 No Limit Hold'em - Main Event): Finished 5th, earning $1,687,000.
  • Event #5 ($30,000 No Limit Hold'em - 8 Handed): Finished 6th, earning $353,000.
  • Event #2 ($20,000 No Limit Hold'em - 8 Handed): Finished 37th, earning $41,000.

Michael Watson, like Greenwood, had a runner-up finish.

  • Event #18 ($30,000 No Limit Short Deck Hold'em Ante Only): Finished 2nd, earning $333,000.
  • Event #16 ($100,000 Pot Limit Omaha - Main Event): Finished 15th, earning $160,000.
  • Event #8 ($50,000 No Limit Hold'em - 7 Handed): Finished 7th, earning $377,000.
  • Event #6 ($25,000 No Limit Hold'em - WPT Global Slam): Finished 63rd, earning $41,000.

Daniel Dvoress was also active in the South Korean tournaments. He had a third-place finish in Event #18, which earned him $229,000.

  • Event #19 ($50,000 No Limit Short Deck Hold'em Ante Only PLPF): Finished 6th, earning $146,000.
  • Event #18 ($30,000 No Limit Short Deck Hold'em Ante Only): Finished 3rd, earning $229,000.
  • Event #12 ($125,000 No Limit Hold'em - 7 Handed): Finished 11th, earning $244,000.
  • Event #9 ($150,000 No Limit Hold'em - 8 Handed): Finished 14th, earning $307,000.

Kristen Foxen, a popular player in Canada, cashed in three events. Probably, she will be a little disappointed that she did not make a bigger splash, finishing 36th in Event #11 ($100,000 NLH Main Event), 20th in Event #6 ($25,000 NLH WPT Global Slam), and 41st in Event #3 ($25,000 NLH) for just minor cashes.

Lucas Greenwood, Sam's twin brother, also competed at the Triton event. He placed 9th in Event #15 ($50,000 PLO), 12th in Event #9 ($150,000 NLH), 36th in Event #6 ($25,000 NLH WPT Global Slam), and 55th in Event #3 ($25,000 NLH).

Most Famous Non-Canadian at 2025 Triton Poker Event

While poking through the results looking for Canadians, I did notice Phil Ivey was active in the tournaments. He participated in numerous events at the 2025 Triton Poker Super High Roller Series Jeju, with six-figure cashes noted below

  • Event #19 ($50,000 No Limit Short Deck Hold'em Ante Only PLPF) on 14 Mar 2025: Finished 4th, earning $248,000.
  • Event #13 ($25,000 Pot Limit Omaha - 6 Handed) on 09 Mar 2025: Finished 5th, earning $213,000.
